Materialized LeanDroid Fights Your Poor Battery Life

Battery life has always been one of the biggest problems facing most Android devices. Phone manufacturers are battling it out putting increasingly powerful CPUs, more RAM, storage–but a bigger battery always seems to be left behind. Even Google noticed that something was wrong and added some battery saving features into Android L.

The large battery drain is often caused by unnecessary services running in the background. 3G/LTE connection uses lots of energy, as well as synchronization and WiFi. Among many applications that can be very helpful in keeping your battery lasting for a long time, LeanDroid seems to be one of the more popular options.

Here’s a list of changes in version 2.5.0:

-Android 5.0 Lollipop fixes: Data (now requires ROOT!), Cell radio, GPS
-Fixes to “except if WiFi has web login” (not yet working on Lollipop if data also connected)
-Material theme on Lollipop, new window transitions
-Low notification priority (no longer in status bar)
-Time spent disabled now counts since last unplugged on full battery
-Updated libsuperuser
-Improved purchase caching

Unfortunately for some of you, this application requires root. Root access shouldn’t be such an issue like it was a few weeks ago, as XDA Senior Recognized Developer Chainfire managed to find a new method of giving the superuser rights, even on stock kernels.

If your battery lasts for a short time and you want to change it, head over to the LeanDroid thread and give this application a shot.

[APP][4.3+] Notific : Lockscreen Notification

What it is :

Notific is lockscreen notification app that displays your notification in an intuitive manner when you need it.
It will automatically turn the screen on and display your notification in an easily accessible tabbed dialogue. It will also show notification quick action buttons if expansion is enabled.

Why it is special :

If the phone is in pocket, don't worry. Notific is intelligent enough to understand that and will not turn on the screen. But if you take out the phone from your pocket within 10secs (customizable) it will turn on the screen for you.

Notific doesn't impact battery life as it will only use the proximity sensor for 10 secs.
The memory usage is highly optimized (2-10MB) and doesn't use 50MB+ as in other notification apps.

From version 2.0 onward, Notific comes with a AndroidWear inspired theme for those don't prefer the dark holo look. (only 4.4+ devices)

The multitude of notifications we get every day are probably the most sensitive information for some and these deserve the utmost privacy.
That's why Notific comes with absolutely no private data mining. No crash data, No Google analytics collection.
It doesn't require connecting to Internet, so you can be sure that there's no way your information goes out of your device.

Project status :

The app is in active development and will get frequent updates and lots of features are in pipeline, including privacy mode and themes (features already there, but more to come).

Possible problems :

Proximity sensor values are calibrated for Nexus devices by default. If you have problems with the sensor on Galaxy or Xperia devices, try calibrating the sensor from app settings or TurnOff Pocket Mode

If you can't uninstall the app, Go to Security Settings in device settings menu -> Security settings -> Device Administrator -> uncheck Notific from list -> then uninstall

[APP][2.2+] Gravity Screen > Turn Screen On/Off Automatically - Keep Screen On

In the words of its developer "I was tired of pressing the power button whenever I need my phone for a second. Thus I created the Gravity Screen Off app which can turn automatically the screen ON when I grab my phone and turn it OFF when I put it into my pocket or onto a table. Basically, no need to touch any button and you are ready to go. "

HOW IT WORKS:

The app turns the screen off by monitoring the orientation of the device through the gravity sensor. When your phone is pointing downward by its top, below a certain angle, it's likely to be out of use. In this situation the proximity sensor is activated to determine if it is covered. If yes, the screen turns off because probably you placed the phone into your pocket or onto a table.
The screen turns on when you lift up your phone. The phone wakes up if the proximity sensor is uncovered or if it was not covered the app is looking for movements to detect the action.
The Keep Screen On feature based on screen orientation and motion detection as well. If the device is pointing upward and small movements are detected it's probably held in hand and the screen timeout is extended.

MAIN FEATURES:

- Pocket Sensor: Recognizes if your phone is in your pocket. By turning your phone below the angle you set, it'll prepare to turn the screen off.

- Table Sensor: Detects your phone is lying on a table and turns the screen off.

- Turn Screen On by Motion: If the screen is off and it's facing up the device can be woken up by any movements (ex. lift up by hand) according to the sensitivity set.

- Keep Screen On by Motion: It's a Screebl like feature but it's relying on the small movements you are doing by your hand while holding the phone. If small motions are detected while the screen is facing up the feature keeps the screen on because it can be suspected that the phone is held and probably you are reading something. If the phone is steady the timeout will work as normal in any position you leave your device unlike in another apps.

- Turn Screen On by Proximity: Turns the screen On when you take your phone out from your pocket and Off when you put it back. By swiping your finger over the proximity sensor the phone can be woken up as well.

- Turn Screen Off by Proximity: If the device is pointing downward it takes the proximity sensor into account. By turning this off the program will rely only on the gravity sensor.

- Tasker, Llama, Locale supported by plug-in.

- 3 widgets: (available in Unlocked version)
(i) pause/resume
(ii) turn screen off: It's like pressing the power button
(iii) turn screen off persistently: turn screen off and keep it off until power button is pressed. It's good when you have to keep the phone in your hand or while driving and do not want the screen turned on by the app. After pressing the power button it will work as before.
- Power Toggles plug-ins

BATTERY USAGE:

You can set the app to minimize the energy consumed by the screen and by this you can extend your battery life. Or you can extend your own life by using another features of the app In the first case the battery usage should be not significant. I experienced about 7 per cent extra consumption on the test device. However it can be higher if you are activating often the Turn Screen On by Motion feature by leaving your device face up on table and you set a relatively long timeout for the feature.

IMPORTANT

On some devices if it's lying face down the alarm clock is switched off by the app after it had gone off! Please check if it's the case for you. If, yes, use a third party app, for example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mClockPlusDock

Gravity Screen Off - FAQ
Gravity Screen - FAQ

[1] Q: The screen not always turns off when I put my phone into my pocket, why?
A:The proximity sensor not always accurate. It can fail recognizing some materials specially if they are very close to it. If it happen occasionally, probably it's still worth to use the sensor. But even you can eliminate the accidental turning on by selecting the False Turn On Protection option.

[2] Q: The Table Sensor not really works for me when I place my phone onto a table face down, why?
A: This issue is quite common. The first problem is that the free version is limited at 10 degree. If you are turning your phone fast downward the proximity sensor is activated only when it's very close to the table. Many proximity sensors cannot judge distance accurate if the object is too close to it. This is the reason the screen remains on often. And even more the reliability of the sensor depends partly on the material as well. Thus if you are using the free version it's recommended to place your phone onto a table not too fast and try to keep it parallel to it. The paid version allows you to increase the angle and by this the problem is significantly reduced. Moreover, the problem can be reduced by selecting the False Turn On Protection option.

[3] Q: Why does the Lying Face Up feature turn the screen off regardless I'm tapping the screen?
A: Due to Android security restrictions a running service cannot detect if the screen was tapped. If you want to continue using the device you have to swipe over the proximity sensor to keep it on or turn it back on.

[4] Q: I'm experiencing high battery usage, why?
A: The app should use about 6 percent extra energy per day if you are not using too much the Turn Screen On by Motion feature. If you frequently lay your phone face up on a table and the Turn Screen On by Motion Timeout is too long, the battery consumption can be much higher. Because the CPU has to be constantly analyzing the data of to acceleration sensor to catch the movement when you lift up the device. Thus if you want to reduce the battery usage it's recommended to keep your phone often lying face down when it's on a table. Because in this situation the proximity sensor is responsible for turning the screen back on which uses much less energy. Moreover, please, keep in mind that the android en-built battery consumption measurement can show much higher results, because it shows the battery usage relatively to another apps. If the phone was not in use or the measurement period was short, it looks like my app uses too much energy however there was not too much energy used all together.

[5] Q: The Keep Screen On by Motion feature does not work for me, why?
A: On some device this feature works only if the Booster checkbox is ticked.

[6] Q: The Turn Screen On by Motion feature does not work for me, why?
A: It's likely that your device is stopping the acceleration sensor when the screen goes off and we can do nothing about it unfortunately. For example: Note 2, Note 3. More info: http://www.saltwebsites.com/2012/and...ers-screen-off If it's the case for you, please turn the feature off to reduce battery usage.

[7] Q: The screen turns off in landscape mode, why?
A: This issue has many different solutions. You can make the Pocket Sensor Angle smaller or if you have the Any Direction feature ticket, you can pause the GS app temporally. There are two ways to pause it: 1. using the Locale plug-in by Tasker or Llama; 2. using the Exclude apps list in the Free version of GS.

[8] Q: It gives me a huuuge wakelok, why?
A: The wakelock is necessary for the "Turn Screen On by Motion" feature but if you turn the screen off through the proximity sensor (i.e. put it into your pocket or place face down onto a table) there won't be wakelock held. So if you want to reduce the wakelock try to keep your phone face down. Moreover, you can limit it by the Timeout scrollbar as well but this means you will loose the feature after the timeout you set.

[9] Q: I'm prompted for my pass code immediately after screen turns on. However my Secure Screen Lock is delayed. What can I do?
A: I can recommend to try the Menu - Delayed Lock features or if no luck, you can try this app as well: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...yedlock2.trial

[10] Q: It makes a buzzing sound when listening to music and stuff. Can you turn it off?
A: Due to a hardware problem the proximity sensor is causing the buzzing noise on Nexus 4 when it's active.
At the moment I can recommend some changes in the settings. If you turn on the Headset support and connect your headphone, you are able to turn off the "Turn Screen Off by Proximity" and "Turn Screen On by Proximity" features independently from the state when headphone is not connected. The app will remember this and always turn off the proximity sensor when headphone is connected.

[11] Q: Can you translate the app to my language?
A: At the moment I can give you the text of the app to translate it with a translator to your language to understand more the features. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...zBdcNJLUy2yx0Y

[12] Q: Will you add an option to scheduled the app to stop it for night hours?
A: Not really. If you leave your phone for a long time somewhere just leave it face down. It's like turning off the app, but you will get the auto screen on when you lift it up.

[13] Q: Why my alarm clock does not work?
A: Unfortunately many alarm clocks cancel the alarm when the screen turns off. It can happen if you leave your phone face down at night and my app turns the screen back off when the alarm goes off. The app is trying to detect the alarm event and pause itself, but it's not possible with all alarm clock apps. Thus it's strongly recommended to test your alarm clock with this app.
You can solve this problem by using a well written alarm clock, for example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mClockPlusDock
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...bitspin.timely

[14] Q: The screen turns on during driving. How to avoid it?
A: The simplest method is to pause the app before driving. There are different widgets in the app for this. Or if you are driving often you can use the False Turn On Protection in Hand & Car but this option has some disadvantages. A more advanced method can be to pause the app when the phone is connected to the car by bluetooth and resumed when disconnected. You can do this by Llama via the Locale plug-in.

[15] Q: The notification not responding/disappearing when I try to pause/resume the app from the notification area, why?
A: Please try to un-tick the NOTIFICATION -> LOW PRIORITY option in the app. It should solve the problem.

[B][16] Q: What are the widgets for:
A:
(i) pause/resume
(ii) turn screen off: It's like pressing the power button
(iii) turn screen off persistently: turn screen off and keep it off until power button is pressed. It's good when the phone is moving but you do not want it to turn on.

TROUBLESHOOT

- make sure the app is installed on internal memory card; external sd cards can cause many kind of problems
- if it looks like the app stopped working correctly do an uninstall, re-install and a reboot.

Clearing Recent Apps is a waste of time and Task Killers don't work ! !

The second of these two statements is pretty much accepted as common knowledge by anyone even passingly familiar with how app caches and RAM work in Android, but the first statement is not as commonly understood. This is why the developer of Greenify, a great app you can use to hibernate apps that have a tendency to stay up past their bedtime, decided to clear things up.

To give you the super simple explanation (which we've covered in greater depth before), when you launch an app it gets stored in random access memory. When you close it, it stays in your RAM so that if you launch it again it will launch must faster. When you force close or swipe away an app in the recent apps list, you effectively clear out that cached app and the next time you launch it, it will be like you're doing it from a fresh boot. This means it takes longer and requires more system resources.

Now, when you have a recent apps list that's 20 apps long then it makes perfect sense to clear away the ''one-off'' apps that you opened once and probably won't open again in the near future. This clears up RAM for other tasks and, on a practical level, you probably don't need those apps stored in memory anyway. In this instance, swiping away unused apps can be a useful way to free up some additional RAM for other tasks. But clearing all of your recent apps creates slow down later on.

The same thing goes for task killers and RAM boosters, which simply kill everything: cached apps and background processes. The same problem arises when you launch the app again. If you've cleared it from memory it takes longer to launch, and if you've killed background processes they usually just start up again after a short period of time. So for freeing up RAM in the short term these are perfectly fine, but as a general remedy for improving performance they are nothing more than a panacea.

If you know how these tools work then using them is fine, but most people don't quite get the mechanics of how caches work and why they are actually a good thing. Take Android L's ART (Android Run Time), for example: by pre-compiling apps once and keeping them stored in RAM, you'll notice significant increases in app launches and responsiveness. This is a good thing, and there are several reasons why Google is making ART the default runtime in the next version of Android.

This is also why the dev behind Greenify, Oasis Feng, decided to illuminate us with the following pearls of wisdom:

Swiping away apps from recent tasks frequently is not a good practice, since it reduces the efficiency of process cache mechanism in Android, thus impact the performance of your device. Swiping away apps from recent tasks kills the process of those apps, thus prevent them from being cached in memory. When you launch them later, it takes longer time and much more CPU cycles to create the process and re-initialize the app runtime. Clearing recent tasks does free much memory, at the expense of later performance and battery consumption for launching those apps again. So if you have a device with 2G RAM, it gains no benefits in practice.

Have a Smiling Day :)

Android Lollipop: All You Want to Know

Announced on 25th June 2014 with its short name "Android L", the newer version of Android finally got its codename and full name on 15th October ! We've already got an early look at Android L before it rolls out to the consumers properly - Google wants to attract the developers, and this is the way to do it. Sadly, the most important thing about the next version of Android remained a secret. We didn't know what the 'L' stands for. Google abandoned its pudding and confectionary-based development naming system at 2014's Google IO developer event, revealing that the next big Android release is known simply as Android L. The Android development team didn't even say if this forthcoming update is to be considered Android 4.5 or the full 5.0 update.

And Finally, Android L is here codenamed as "Lollipop" and considered as Android 5.0 which is ready to bring a raft of new changes, with Sundar Pichai, head of Android, proclaiming it to be one of the biggest upgrades to Android yet. It's going to have a radical new design, 5000 new APIs, will be available for developer previews soon, and it's going beyond the mobile form factor. Android L will be contextually aware of its surrounding, plus voice is going to me a major input source. The experience will also be seamless, so Android L devices communicate properly, although Pichai was at pains to point out the mobile phone will always be the priority.

What's New?

1. New Material Design look

A bold, colorful, and responsive UI design for consistent, intuitive experiences across all your devices
 - Responsive, natural motion, realistic lighting and shadows, and familiar visual elements make it easier to navigate your device
 - Vivid new colors, typography, and edge-to-edge imagery help to focus your attention

The big news for Android L is the change to the way it looks - and it's going well beyond the mobile phone to the tablet, TV screen, watch and even the car.

The new Material Design is strange in that it bucks a trend at the moment - yes, it's flat, but it's heavily based on making every animation, every ripple, every shadow look real, which is something that most brands are shying away from.

There will be no mistaking the arrival of Android L on your phone or tablet if you're using an unskinned stock version of the OS, as there are stacks of new visual touches on the way.

Google calls the new changes to the Android UI its "Material Design" approach, one that takes the Google Now cards system and adds depth, shadows and more to layouts across the system, with app elements able to slide into and atop each other.

And look, new on-screen software button icons are in there too, with a triangle replacing the Back arrow, a circle for Home and a simple square for accessing the Recent Apps multitasking menu. Every animation on screen will be allowed to connect to one another - so there's no 'teleportation between apps'. The home, back and multi-tasking window buttons on Android have been refined too, and overall, this is a massive step forward for a cleaner, more intuitive-looking version of Google's mobile platform.

Google tells us that this feels more intuitive, which means that there will be shadow gradients, 3D tiles that slide over one another and most importantly: access for developers to use this for themselves on their apps.

The idea of obvious: remove the fragmented way Android looks and bring consistency to the app world not matter what device you're on.

Roboto font has been updated too, so everything from watch to TV to mobile looks the same.

2. New animations and transitions

The Material Design look is supposed to give users visual clues as to how things work. Each app element has an "elevation level" that decides how high it can float above over information panels, with on-screen ripples and cues letting you know when a press has registered.

Animation effects kick in as you tap names in the dialler, with "nested scrolling" resizing the top bars and tabs on the fly as you scroll down lists.

Android L also adds seams and real-time shadows to panes as they slide around. And this isn't just for Android either. Google wants to roll out this design ethic across all of its products, with the desktop Google Drive productivity apps set to get a Material makeover too.

3. Full lock-screen and "heads-up" notifications

New ways to control when and how you receive messages - only get interrupted when you want to be
View and respond to messages directly from your lock screen. Includes the ability to hide sensitive content for these notifications
For fewer disruptions, turn on Priority mode via your device’s volume button so only certain people and notifications get through. Or schedule recurring downtime like 10pm to 8am when only Priority notifications can get through
With Lollipop, incoming phone calls won’t interrupt what you’re watching or playing. You can choose to answer the call or just keep doing what you’re doing
Control the notifications triggered by your apps; hide sensitive content and prioritize or turn off the app’s notifications entirely
More intelligent ranking of notifications based on who they’re from and the type of communication. See all your notifications in one place by tapping the top of the screen

The notifications system is finally getting a serious visual jazz-up, with Google transforming its dull grey list into a card-based, white tile system that's fully accessible and actionable from the lock screen.

The posh new notifications animate, pop out and expand using the new 3D layers and shadows, looking vastly more impressive than they ever did in the old style KitKat system.

And there's a new miniature "heads-up" notification too, one that adds a live notification overlay to games being played in full-screen mode without interrupting the action - which you're able to swipe away and continue playing if it's someone you don't really like wanting you to do something you don't really want to do.

4. Interlocking apps

Google wants your apps to be able to talk to one another - it used the example of searching for a place, only to have it served up in Google Earth, which is where it originally was being looked at.

The idea goes much deeper than that though - Chrome browsing has an API that other apps can take advantage of, so if you click a link to book a table in the browser you'll be taken to something like OpenTable directly, rather than the mobile site.

This feature depends a lot on app developers taking advantage of the new tools, but all the onboard Google apps will be much more dependent on one another.

5. Project Volta

The big moan as far as users of every type of smartphone in the world was addressed by Google's Android team, who claim that the "Project Volta" modifications to the code may increase battery life.

When running Android L, Google suggests a user might see up to 90 minutes of extra uptime on the Nexus 5 thanks to Volta and more battery/power management tools, which is significant given that particular phone's rather dismal battery life.

Developers are also able to access a Battery Historian feature to measure consumption by apps, spotting troublesome high-drain issues.

6. Personal unlocking

A very clever idea, this. The new Personal Unlocking feature has the ability to learn where you are and what other devices you use, and even use your voice print, as a method of verifying you as the owner of the device.

Activate this and, if the phone's sure it's you using it in the place you usually use it and with the things you have attached to it attached to it, it can bypass the PIN-protected lock screen and let you straight into the phone.

The example Google gave us was of a phone recognising a user had a known Bluetooth device within range, so it deactivated the lock. This is something Samsung had created with its range of wearables and we bet that the two had a little chat about this somewhere in-between shouting about Tizen in hotel rooms.

7. Android L is Faster, better looking and more efficient
A faster, smoother and more powerful computing experience
ART, an entirely new Android runtime, improves application performance and responsiveness
Up to 4x performance improvements
Smoother UI for complex, visually rich applications
Compacting backgrounded apps and services so you can do more at once
Support for 64 bit devices, like the Nexus 9, brings desktop class CPUs to Android
Support for 64-bit SoCs using ARM, x86, and MIPS-based cores
Shipping 64-bit native apps like Chrome, Gmail, Calendar, Google Play Music, and more
Pure Java language apps run as 64-bit apps automatically

Whilst Android comes with some nifty new features that make an immediate visual impact, Google has put a lot of work in behind the scenes to ensure that Android L is the fastest yet. If you're not big on codespeak, then this is the upshot: a new way of putting the platform together when you're using the phone makes everything slicker, faster and more efficient.

If you're interested, here are the finer details: ART, an optional runtime in Android KitKat, has now been made the standard for Android L and works with ARM, x86 and MIPS platforms and runs twice as fast as the Dalvik runtime that is found on previous Android iterations.

The biggest benefit to users comes that this won't require apps to be readjusted in order to benefit, instead all apps with benefit from ART right away. ART is also more memory efficient than Dalvik meaning that apps that are running in the background will benefit from megabytes of saved data.

ART is also 64-bit compatible allowing Android L to benefit from the larger number registers, cross platform support and the increased RAM support that 64-bit architecture supports.

Android L also allows mobile devices to further close the gap not only between mobile and console-quality gaming, but also between mobile and PC graphics. Working with Nvidia, Qualcomm, ARM and Imagination Technologies Google has designed the Android Extension Pack with the sole task of closing the gap between mobile and desktop-class graphics, which will result in "more realistic environments, more realistic characters and vastly improved lighting".

8. Android L battery life

Batteries on phones running Android L are going to become more efficient with Project Volta, Google's new way of showing why and how a phone's power pack is juicing down.

It opens up the battery use to developers so they can see what's ruining the experience, which should in turn help plug the gaps in power leakage. Nothing specific to talk about yet but will help make things look more efficient.

Battery Saver mode is integrated by default too, which can lengthen your use during the day by up to 90 mins. Not extreme power saving like on Samsung or HTC phones, but still useful to have baked in, even if all and sundry already have a likely more efficient version on board.

Even without Battery Saver mode Android L could do wonders for battery life. ArsTechnica put the new OS version to the test and found that a Nexus 5 running Android L had around 36% more battery life than one on Android 4.4 KitKat.

9. Android Wear gets kicked up a Gear

We saw a lot more about Android Wear - and not only that, but we were introduced to Samsung's Gear Live, the third member of the new smartwatch game Google is trying to put together before Apple throws its hat into the ring.

Android Wear will use the same tools as on Android for phones and tablets, plus square and circular screens will be supported. Sensors will be well integrated for fitness and social interactions, and help reduce the need to check a phone screen. It's basically wearables like the Galaxy Gear 2, really.

10. Android TV now baked right in too

Android L is also going to support TV, with information overlaid across the top of the information. It's called Android TV, surprisingly, and after the failure of Google TV the brand is having another go, such was the popularity of the Chromecast.

This means you've got content (games, films, TV shows etc) straight on your big screen and has a home button to get you back to the main display whenever you want.

Search is well-integrated too (through the mobile phone... or even an Android Wear watch), with Android TV very much powered by voice. So say you search for something like 'Breaking Bad' on the phone (when connected to the Android TV) it will show you the option to watch it on Google Play or any other compatible app installed.

The demo showed that Netflix was installed, but didn't appear in the search options - perhaps it was just a dummy app for now, but certainly that would be where the info would show.

And here's the great news: Android TV has been signed up to by some big names - the likes of Sony, Philips and Sharp have whole 4K ranges based on Android TV. Asus and Razer promise to have set top boxes to achieve the same thing too... although surely Google will update Chromecast to achieve the same thing.

This could really ramp up the smart TV game.

Android TV is looking to snap up the mobile gamer too. You can take the games to the bigger screen in the house. It looks like you need a separate gamepad too. With the new Android L-based Android TV, you can even play multiplayer games... or use it like a Chromecast too.

11. Media:

Bolder graphics and improved audio, video, and camera capabilities
Lower latency audio input ensuring that music and communication applications that have strict delay requirements provide an amazing realtime experience
Multi-channel audio stream mixing means professional audio applications can now mix up to eight channels including 5.1 and 7.1 channels
USB Audio support means you can plug USB microphones, speakers, and a myriad of other USB audio devices like amplifiers and mixers into your Android device
OpenGL ES 3.1 and Android extension pack brings Android to the forefront of mobile graphics putting it on par with desktop and console class performance
A range of new professional photography features for Android Lollipop that let you
Capture full resolution frames around 30 fps
Support raw formats like YUV and Bayer RAW
Control capture settings for the sensor, lens, and flash per individual frame
Capture metadata like noise models and optical information
State of the art video technology with support for HEVC main profile to allow for UHD 4K 10-bit video playback, tunneled hardware video decoding to save power and improved HLS support for streaming

12. OK Google

Easy access to information and performing tasks
Even if your screen is off, you can say "OK Google" on devices with digital signal processing support such as Nexus 6 and Nexus 9
Talk to Google on the go to get quick answers, send a text, get directions and more !

Android 5.0 is going to be exciting, there's no doubt about that. Let wait until you get an official update or grab Nexus 6 ! !
